Basil Matthew Brown
May 5, 1941 - July 27, 2016
Brown, Basil Matthew - 75, of Brookside, Hatchett Lake, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 27th, 2016.
Born in Halifax, and raised in Spryfield, he was the son of
the late Marie Brown.
Basil worked for the government at the Halifax dockyards as a pipe fitter and planner/estimator.
He enjoyed his life through community and church activity, serving as a Scout leader, hiking, hunting, golfing, painting, and enriching the lives of his family and those around him. Always
busy, but always finding the time to help those in need and take care of his family, Basil was a true hero to those of us who knew him. In his retirement, he spent many years taking care of his
late wife, Linda Brown (Pye), at home. His dedication and love at this time was unparalleled and truly shows the type of amazing person he was.
