
Taylor, Bertha Elizabeth – 77, of Halifax, passed away surrounded by family Tuesday February 12, 2013 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary. Born in Mann Settlement, Quebec, she was a daughter of the late Eursal and Louisa (Mann) Kaine. She retired from the Department of National Defense in 1989. After retirement, she enjoyed her winters in Florida. Bertha enjoyed travelling, time at the camp, knitting, baking and playing Bingo. She was a long time member of the Sackville Legion. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. She is survived by son, Basil (Nancy) Brownhill; daughter Deborah McKenzie; grand daughter, Amanda Brownhill; grandson, Devon Brownhill; brothers, Basil (Faye) Kaine, Beverly (Kaye) Kaine; sister, Betty Lou Fitzgerald; several nieces and nephews. Bertha was predeceased by first husband, Donald Brownhill and her late husband, Gary Taylor; son, Douglas Brownhill. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service will be held from 2-4 p.m. Thursday February 28, 2013 at Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd. Halifax. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Liver Foundation of Nova Scotia or charity of choice.
