<div itemprop="description">Timms, Bridget Marie &quot;Bride&quot;<br /><br />It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister and nanny, Bride Timms, age 88, on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at the Halifax Infirmary, with her loving family by her side. Born October 30, 1927, in Fortune Bay, Millers Passage, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Evangeline (Drake) Ridgeley. She spent her early years in Newfoundland until moving to Halifax at the age of 18, and worked at Moir&rsquo;s milk chocolate factory. She met and married the love of her life James Timms. She also worked at Camp Hill Hospital and volunteered at the gift shop at Camp Hill Veterans Building. Bride retired from a managerial position in 1992 from Famous Players Theatres. She is survived by her daughters, Norine (Dennis), Patty (John), Diane, Colleen (Eddy) and sons, James, Timmy and David; sister, Cymru McCafferty; grandchildren, D.J. (Angela), Darren, Tara (Jeff), Kyle, Bridgette (Chris), Brittany (Justin), Krista (A.J.), Jeffrey (Haley), James, Natasha; great grandchildren, Ridgley, Edele, Claire, Nolan, Sophia, Aria; sister-in-law, Diane. She is predeceased by her husband, James; granddaughter, Tonya; sisters, Marie, Theresa; brothers, Patrick and John. Bride was also predeceased by her aunt and uncle, Leo (Marie) Hull, who raised her following the passing of her mother. Bride was a devout Catholic who to the Saint Catherine's church. In her later years, nothing made her happier than spending time with her family, accompanied with a cup of red rose tea and her knitting needles. She opened her home and her heart to all those she met and will be remembered for her kindness and generosity. We will miss being greeted by her warm, sweet smile. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9pm today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Saturday in St. Catherine of Siena Church where a reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Cottage or Metro Turning Point. Bride always welcomed the needy and lonely into her home with open arms.
