<div itemprop="description">WRIGHT, Clarence Cecil<br />Age 80, born August 31, 1934 in Beechville, NS, passed away on Sunday morning, June 21, 2015 at the Victoria General Hospital. He was the son of the late Sidney and Pearl (Niles) Wright.<br /><br />He was a man who loved his family and was well-respected in his community. A Korean War veteran he served in the Princess Patricia&rsquo;s Canadian Light Infantry. He was a former member of the Beechville Baptist Church Men&rsquo;s Brotherhood and the Beechville Baptist Church Senior Choir. Clarence was a construction worker with Corkum Construction for over 30 years, retiring in 1996. He was a skilled athlete and a member of the Beechville Arrows, the first baseball team in the community. An avid bowler he bowled with several Bowling Leagues: the Beechville, the Senior Men&rsquo;s, the Oasis, and the Post Office. He was a strong, articulate, insightful man with a quick wit.<br /><br />He is survived by his longtime companion Iona Duncan-States; daughters Carolann (Myles) Wright-Parks, Halifax, Shawna Wright, Halifax; sons Craig Wright, Winnipeg, Barry (Bridget) Wright, Minesville, Lionel Wright, Truro Derrick Wright, Beechville, Todd (Sandra) Wright, East Preston; sister Maude (Herman) Lorde-Cox; Halifax brothers Ivan (Geraldine) Wright, Truro Charles (Marjorie) Wright, Beechville, David Wright, Ormstown, Que.; Teddy (Carol) Wright, Montreal, Que.; Ruford Wright, Ormstown, Que.; 35 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.<br /><br />He was predeceased by his wife Viola (Harris) Wright, sisters Edie Wright, Doris Johnson, Joan Colley, and Gloria Wright; brother Arnold Wright; daughters Sandra Wright and Darcel Wright.<br />Visitation will be Monday, June 29, 2015 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayer&rsquo;s Road, and Halifax. Funeral service on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 1pm, at Beechville Baptist Church 1135 St. Margaret&rsquo;s Bay Rd. Service officiated by Rev. Lloyd Grant, interment will follow at the Beechville Baptist Church Cemetery. Repast to follow in the church hall.<br /><br />The family extends a warm thanks to the 7A Palliative Care Team at the Victoria General Hospital.<br /></div>
