Cyril William Colby
March 14, 1925 - July 21, 2016
Colby, Cyril William 91 of Halifax Passed away suddenly July 21, 2016 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary. Born in Halifax he was a son of the late Vincent and Emma (Starling) Musolino. Dad not only owned and operated his own construction company, but, was also a developer in and around the Sambro loop for many years. He loved music, played guitar and fiddle and co-wrote songs with his first love Edna (Mom). Dad was a very young 91. He was active and lived independently up until very recently. He loved and painted many pictures (folk art) which are now hung on walls around the globe. Cyril also loved gardening, cooking, nature and wildlife. He had a great sense of humor and loved joking around. Cyril also loved to travel, soak in the sun and was very generous to his family. Survived by his son, Cyril “Bunny” (Laura) Musolino; daughter, Sheila Maskell (Dave); grandson, Jason; great grandchildren, Samuel, Katie; brother, David (Jean) as well as special friend Dorothy Hawbolt. Predeceased by his wife, Edna (Mom); long term companion, Gloria Boutilier; brothers, Angelo, John; sisters, Doris, Jean and Margaree. Special thanks to the Internal Medicine team at the QEII Infirmary for the special care they provided. Special thanks also to Afton at Paramed home care (dads daily dose of sunshine) as well as the VON. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place 1:30pm Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd. from where a reception will follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the East Coast German Sheppard Rescue, 26 Hugh Allen Drive, Dartmouth, NS, B2W 2K8, who made a spot for Spartacus (a pitbull mix) in their transport van from Quebec. Spartacus followed dad around and stayed by his side throughout his illness or please just say a special prayer for our Dad on his journey home.
