<div itemprop="description">Gilliam-McQuade (Hill), Doris Harriett, 76 of Halifax. passed away peacefully April 3, 2015 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Enid (Clarke) Hill. Doris moved to the USA with her first husband, Dr. G. William McQuade in 1966 and in 1982 married her second husband, Robert J. Gilliam. Doris loved her grandchildren and missed them so much when she moved back to Canada to live. She also loved Bridge and spent many happy hours playing with her dear friends. She showed much strength and character during her years of bad health, never complaining and always seeing the positive side of things. Doris enjoyed life to the fullest and spent many happy hours at her sister and brother-in-laws cottage in Mill Cove in the summer. Doris will be sadly missed by her family and many friends both in Canada and the USA. She leaves to mourn her son, Kelley William McQuade; stepdaughters, Vicki Pagan and Tami Gomez all of Connecticut, USA; sister Judi (Edward) Kynock, Halifax; 8 grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Douglas in infancy; her first husband, Dr. G. William McQuade as well as her second husband, Robert J. Gilliam. A celebration in honour of Doris&rsquo; memory will be held 2pm Friday, April 10, 2015 at Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax with Rev. Jerome MacDonald officiating. A reception will follow at 5524 Heatherwood Court A Building in the common room. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
