Dorothy "Dot" Dunphy
November 29, 1924 - January 13, 2017
DUNPHY (Cantwell), Dorothy “Dot”, age 92, of Halifax, passed away on January 13, 2017 in the QEII Halifax Infirmary.
Born in Sydney Mines, she was a daughter of the late Alice (Young) and William Cantwell.
Dot loved to go to bingo. She loved when her family and loved ones came to visit. She adored her cat Stella.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Orman, Halifax, Wilma (Bryan) Nelson, Middleton; brother Fred Cantwell, Sydney Mines; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Dot was predeceased by her husband Patrick Dunphy; daughter Dorothy Dunphy; brothers, William, Louis; and sisters, Rebecca, Janet and Willena.
Cremation has taken place. The funeral service will take place at 11am on Thursday January 19, in St. John Vianney Church, 4 Beaver Bank Road, Lower Sackville.
Interment in Oakridge Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA of Nova Scotia or Bide Awhile Animal Shelter.
