<div itemprop="description">Grant, Douglas St. Clair - 86, of Shad Bay, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012.&nbsp; Born in Fox River, N.S., he was the son of the late Leonard and Media (Sweet) Grant.&nbsp; Douglas was an avid supporter of amateur sport in Nova Scotia through his business The Midtown Tavern &amp; Grill Ltd.&nbsp; He was inducted into the Nova Scotia Softball Hall of Fame in 2005.&nbsp; The &quot;bulldog&quot; boxed as a teenager in the Parrsboro Boxing Club.&nbsp; He is survived by his daughters, Arlene (Robert Naugler), Laara &quot;Linda&quot; (Phil Jarmen); sons Eric (Susan), Robert (Beverley), and Jeffrey; grandchildren, Colin, Aaron, Julie, Kathryn, Rebecca, Robert; brothers, Kenneth, Toronto, Ont., Gerald, Summerside, P.E.I.; sisters, Margaret, Amherst; Lois, Toronto, Ont.&nbsp; He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Jean Agnes (Collier); son, John Arthur; brothers, James, Joseph, Carrol, Barss &quot;Arthur&quot;, Sterling and Donald; sisters, Carmeta &quot;Toby&quot;, Shirley, Agnes, Georgia, Alta and Muriel.&nbsp; Visitation will be held from 2-4 &amp; 7-9 p.m. Wednesday February 22 and Thursday February 23 at Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, where the funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday February 24.&nbsp; Cremation will follow the funeral service with interment taking place at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery, Shad Bay.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart &amp; Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Diabetes Association of Nova Scotia.&nbsp; On-line condolences may be sent by visiting: www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com. <br /> </div>
