<div itemprop="description">BRUCE, Frances M. (Atkinson), 83, of Halifax, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at the QE II New HI, surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Windsor, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Edith (States) Atkinson. She had worked at Northwood Care as a PCW and previous to that, she worked for Alexandra Park Residence Association, in Toronto. She loved playing bingo and cribbage. Frances was also a member of the North End Library Walkers Group. She was a member of Cornwallis Street Baptist Church, although in her later years did not attend church on a regular basis. She is survived by daughters, Nadine (Glenn), Stephanie (Jimmy), all of North Preston; son, Frank Jr. , Halifax; sisters, Evelina, Halifax, Edna (Lorne), Oshawa, Florence, Sharon, Toronto, Claudia, Sudbury; brothers , Glenn, Vancouver, Claude (Victoria) Sudbury, Ronald (Cathy) Oshawa, Martin, Toronto; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and loving in-laws. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Frank; sons Wade, Duvelle; brothers, Howard Jr, Joseph; sisters, Ethel, Gladys. Private Family viewing at the Cornwallis Street Baptist Church on Monday from 11am until noon. Public visitation will begin at noon when all others will be graciously welcomed. The funeral service will be held at 1pm, Rev. Dr. Britten officiating. A repast will follow the service on the lower level. Cremation will take place and interment will be in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank 5.1 and 7.1 at the Halifax Infirmary for the wonderful care that was given to our loved one &ldquo;Babe&rdquo;.
