Kennedy, George Wallace, 84, of Halifax, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2014 in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Halifax on June 4, 1930, he was the son of the late Guy and Aileen (Judge) Kennedy. George was a member of the Halifax Fire Department for 30 years retiring in 1987. George is survived by sons, Edward (Paula), Dartmouth, Paul (Heather), Morinville, AB; daughters, Dawn Burgess (Dale Smith), Middle Sackville, Susan Kennedy-Kean, Oromocto, NB.; step son David (Nora) Boudreau, Hubbards Point; step daughter-in-law, Lise Clavette, Edmundston, NB; sister, Shirley (Ron) Down, Toronto, ON; grandchildren, Shelden Burgess, Middle Sackville, Barry (Melina) Kennedy, Matthew Kennedy, Tim Kennedy, Dartmouth, Natasha Kean-Clark (Jason), Calgary, AB, Melissa Kennedy (Brian Croft), Alicia (Rob) Haule, Morinville, AB, Sarah (Devin) Bentley, Saskatoon, SK; step grandchildren, Michelle Boudreau McCleave (Rae), Hubbards Point, Shelley Ann (Clyde) Caldwell, Yarmouth, Melissa (Hans) Ouellette, Fredericton, NB, Vicky Boudreau (Bruno Voisine), Edmundston, NB; great grandchildren, Henry Kennedy-Croft, Morinville, AB, Jackson Bentley, Saskatoon, AB; step great grandchildren, Aidan and Lily McCleave, Hubbards Point, Alexander Ouellette, Fredericton, NB, Alycia and Mathis Voisine, Edmundston, NB. George was predeceased by his loving wife and best friend Doris Kennedy (Shea); Sister Pearl Baker and Step son Stephen Boudreau. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place from 12-3 pm on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax, with a graveside funeral service to follow directly after at Camp Hill Cemetery, Summer Street, Halifax.
