<div itemprop="description">Hoadley (Hall), Joan Elizabeth – 79, Hatchet Lake. It is with heavy hearts we announce the death of our loving mother and grandmother, Joan Hoadley. Joan passed away on February 15, 2016 at Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s / Dementia. Born in Halifax, March 13, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Butt) Hall. She is now with the love of her life, Howard Hoadley Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Jim) Brunt; son, Howie (Lynne); granddaughters, Lisa, Jenna, Tori, Taylor and Jamie; great grandson, Maddox. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley (McKenzie); brother in law, Richard (Stella) Hoadley as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard; brothers, Jimmy, Jack; brother in law, James McKenzie. Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She worked for several years at Moirs, where she met Howard, the love of her life who she has now joined to continue their journey. Joan loved to sing and dance along to her favorite singer Dean Martin. She captured many hearts with her funny sense of humor. Visitation will take place 2-4, 7-9 pm Thursday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd, Halifax. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 am Friday in St Catherine of Siena Church. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Vimy Legion Branch 27, 6158 Almon Street, Halifax. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff on the 5th floor at St. Vincent’s nursing Home for all the love and care they provided for mom during her time there.
