<div itemprop="description"> <strong> &#8203; </strong> <strong> Nehiley, John &quot;Jack&quot; Howard - 74 of Halifax, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013 at the QEII Infirmary Site surrounded by his family. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Howard and Madeline (Purcell) Nehiley. Jack loved his family dearly. He also loved fishing, camping and telling stories. He was a big kid at heart and loved playing with his remote controlled toys. Jack could often be found sitting outside on his bench or with his head poked out the window keeping an eye on the neighnorhood. His greatest pleasure was to be surrounded by his grandchildren, the neighborhood childrenand was known as ``PaPa`` to all. Jack was excited and looking forward to the arrival of his first great grandson, Brody, due in March. He is survived by his former wife, Shirley; children, Ann, Dartmouth, Jacqueline (Karl), Halifax, John (Julia), Bridgewater; grandchildren, Donald (Dana), Sackville, Stephanie (Kathleen), Oromocto, Brittany, Halifax, Ben, Halifax and Amy, Kentville; sisters, Phylis (Ron) MacDougall, Ontario, Catherine (Donny) Campbell, Prospect, Patricia (Lorne), Sackville.&nbsp;He was predeceased by his brother, Mark. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax where a memorial service will be held 2 pm Friday, February 15, 2013. Private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Society.
