Joseph Gangoo
February 19, 1950 - November 13, 2015
Gangoo, Joseph Pooran - age 65, passed away peacefully at the VG hospital surrounded by his family.
Born in Trinidad, Joe was the eldest son of Abel and Dooknie Gangoo.
Joseph worked at the dockyards for many years and also drove the church bus for Sunday services, Joe did maintenance work, loved cars and enjoyed driving, there was nothing that he didn't tackle, he was the jack of all trades. Joe had a great sense of humour, and was known for his curry chicken. He was a fun person to be around. Joe loved his family dearly and always tried his best throughout the years. He travelled often to Montreal and Halifax to spend time with his family. Joe lived a good life, and his grandchildren were his world. He will be missed by his children; Joseph(Laura) Gangoo, Riverview; Suzy(Shannon)Hansen,Halifax; Roy(Crystal)Gangoo,Halifax; and all 10 of his Grandchildren, Shea, Harlem, Wesley, Salia, Shadan, Sezar, Sakylo, Syvaya, Sijora, and Brooklynn Sisters Sheila,Sylvia,Mary, Montreal; Norma, New York; Kamini,Krishna, Trinidad; Brothers Cecil,Steve,Trinidad; Kelvin,Toronto; And several nieces and nephews who will also miss their uncle Joe.
Predeceased by his mother and father, Dooknie and Abel Gangoo;his wife Mary Gangoo; Sister Girlin; and brother Selwyn.
Visitation will be held at Atlantic funeral home Thursday from 11 -1 pm and the funeral service will be held at 1pm that same day, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax. Rev Elaine Walcott officiating. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the lung association Nova Scotia.
