<div itemprop="description">GILLIS, KATHLEEN (KAYE) ROBERTA <br />Passed away suddenly on March 31, 2016 at the age of 82 at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax with family and one of her best friends at her bedside. Now back with her beloved Charlie and Kenny. Born May 26, 1933 in Tatamagouche, Colchester County, Nova Scotia. Daughter of Charles and Helen (Hatch) Millard. Predeceased by her husband, Charles &ldquo;Charlie&rdquo; Gillis in 2014, her son Kenneth in 1990, and her sisters and brothers, Hazel, Edna, Eileen, Phyllis, Walter, Verna, Vernon &ldquo;Bud&rdquo;, Patricia, and her twin brother Kenneth. Also her sister-in-law and great friend, Nettie. She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law Marlene and Graham Moores, Kingston, Ontario; loving granddaughters, Jourdan, Ericha and Caroline; her brothers, Leroy (Ellen) Millard, Don (Marianne) Millard; sister-in-law Kay Millard; brothers-in-law, Gordon Knight and John Nicholson along with wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her North End neighbors. She will be fondly missed by her very special friends, Paulette and Robert Clark, Jack and Tish MacPherson, and Don and Myrna Steeves. Kaye was a true Maritimer whose focus was always her family, to whom she was so very dedicated, loving, generous and truly fun. She especially treasured her times spent with her three granddaughters: watching them grow up, encouraging them on all of their adventures and endeavors, catching up on details of their lives and chatting for hours. Kaye was well known for her home cooking and baking, especially her specialties - hot cinnamon rolls, millionaire squares, and lemon pies. Kaye and Charlie loved their summer camping trips, enjoyed the different campsites, the camaraderie, lobster dinners and serving up a &ldquo;spread&rdquo;. Visitation will be held 2-4, 6-9 pm Sunday, April 3 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax Funeral mass will be held 10 am Monday, April 4 at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church (corner of Mumford Rd. and Chebucto Rd.) followed by a reception at the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
