<div itemprop="description"><br />SHAW, Lindsay Thomas, 93, of Halifax, passed away at home April 14th, 2016. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Thomas &amp; Olive Shaw. Lindsay was a veteran of WWII and a long-time employee of CN Hotels/Trains retiring as Banquets Captain at the Hotel Nova Scotian. He was an outdoor enthusiast enjoying any activity or sport that he could do in nature. While his hunting and fishing skills were not legendary, he could cook a mean pot of beans over an open fire and was known to nibble on the fishing bait when he got bored. Lindsay loved oil painting and tinkering. He spent countless hours fixing and re-inventing things. He is survived by his sons, Paul (Carole), Michael (Karolyn), Blaine; his daughter, Heather (Charles); grandchildren, Tyler, Brett, Mark, Jeff, B.J. and Alex; great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Abbygail and Josiah. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary; brother, Ernest and sisters, Barbara and Hazel. Visitation will be held at the Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax on Wednesday, April 20th at 1:00 pm followed by a prayer service at 2:00pm.<br /></div>
