<div itemprop="description">KEMP, Margaret Mary (DeCoste) 90. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother. Born in Antigonish County NS, She was the eldest daughter of the late Bertha (Brow) and Andrew DeCoste of Havre Boucher, NS. Our mother was a beautiful, caring person to anyone who knew her. She came to Halifax in 1940, met and married the love of her life Leo on June 30, 1947. Margaret loved to be around family and friends. We always called her a social butterfly. She enjoyed playing cards, cribbage, reading, scrabble, bingo, shopping, knitting, baking and watching the news. She could tell all of us what was going on in the world. Mom spent a lot of time in daily prayer. She was a very faithful, and devote Catholic. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Leo Patrick Kemp; sister, Evelyn DeCoste; brothers, Elmer, Leonard, Ernest, Richard and Curtis. She is survived by her sisters, Muriel Amirault of Bedford and Eileen Ulicny of Michigan; daughters, Sheila (Keith) Innes of Boutiliers Point, Therese (Dan) Melkert of Hammond's Plains; sons, James (Gail) Kemp, Robert (Theresa) Kemp both of Halifax; grandchildren, Tania, Michelle, Rodney, Leigh-Ann, Michael, Amy, David and Alicia; step grandson, Dana; great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Ava, Meagan, Madeline, Noah, Lucas and Tatum; great stepchildren, Josie and Luca. A SPECIAL thank you goes out to the staff of Ivany Place Northwood Bedford, who have cared for our mother for the past 3 1/2 years.
