<div itemprop="description"><br> Mary Olive Hook (Tucker) Age 97, of Halifax, died peacefully May 3, 2016 at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home. Born January 29, 1919 in Parrsboro, NS, she was the daughter of Hilton S. and Hilda B. (Strachan) Tucker. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Herbert Reddy Memorial Hospital in Montreal. She nursed there for a few years, then in 1948 she came to Halifax and did private duty nursing. During her married life she resided in Seabright, Halifax Co. Upon retirement she and her husband moved to their summer home in Inverness Co. Cape Breton and spent the winter months in Florida. They spent one summer driving across Canada with their travel trailer.<br>She was predeceased by her husband A. Phillip and 3 siblings Elizabeth, Barbara and Stuart. She is survived by her sister Daphne Faulkner, Halifax, stepdaughter Myrna King, Lower Sackville, stepson Phillip and wife Patricia, Goderich, Ont. She was a loving and caring aunt to her many nieces and nephew.<br>The family extends their appreciation to the staff of St. Vincent’s Nursing Home (where she has resided since 2011) for their dedication and loving care of Olive.<br>Funeral service to celebrate Olive’s life will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 11 a.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd. Halifax, reception to follow. Interment afterwards in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation in Olive’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice. <br><br></div>
