<div itemprop="description">Pauline Marie Bellussi- Age 82, Halifax. Born July 6 1934, Church Point. She was the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Comeau) LeBlanc. Pauline passed away peacefully with family by her side, on March 9, 2017. When she first moved to Halifax she volunteered with the Sisters of Charity helping immigrants arriving to Canada via Pier 21. It was during this time that she would meet her future husband Ivan. Pauline had a long distinguished career in nursing working at the Grace Maternity and the IWK Hospital, neonatal unit. Pauline spent countless hours translating for Francophone parents with children at the IWK from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec and Saint Pierre et Miquelon. She was always passionate about caring for the young and old and those in suffering be it physical or emotional. Pauline is survived by her son Paul and wife Gail (Collinson) Bellussi, granddaughters, Stephanie and Laura, son, Marcel, all of Halifax; brother, Ernest; foster sister Marlyn Melanson; sister in law Lucy MacLean. She was predeceased by husband Ivan; foster brother Charles Maclean, and brother in law, Albert Melanson. A proud Acadian she always loved returning to Church Point and visiting with extended family in the country side. She was very pleased that her granddaughters studied French Immersion and would speak to them in French will encouraging them to become bilingual. She was an avid reader especially of history and enjoyed traditional folk music. We would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to the staff at Windsor Elms Village who cared so well for Pauline in her final years and brought her happiness every day. We would also like to thank Dr. Smith and the nursing staff at Hants County Hospital, who made her final days comfortable and peaceful. She will be forever missed by Rio, the family’s beloved Shetland sheep dog who never left her side during her illness at home and never left his heart. Pauline will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity and, devotion to family, faith and friends. <br>Visitation will take place in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, on Wednesday, March 15th, from 5-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Catherine of Siena Church, 6476 Bayers Rd., Halifax on Thursday, March 16th, at 11:00 am. <br>Interment in Oakridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Pauline's memory to the IWK Health Centre Foundation.</div>
