<div itemprop="description">Ralph William Brenton<br>Ralph passed away peacefully February 6, 2017 in the VG site,QE11, Palliative Care Unit,<br>surrounded by his loving family. Born in Halifax, April 17, 1924, he was the son of Ivan Lee and Ella May (Innis) Brenton. He was a charter member of the Halifax Junior Bengal Lancers. In early adulthood he worked in the family business, Brenton's Army Navy Dairy. He was former owner-operator of Brenton Datsun in Bridgewater, although his long career was primarily insurance, working for Motors Insurance Corporation and later with Marsh Adjustment. He was a member of Acacia Lodge #39, Scottish Rite. Ralph was an avid reader and greatly enjoyed playing piano, golf and boating.<br>Ralph is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Liz) (MacDonald MacKenzie), son Ronald (Lorraine),<br>sister Lois, brother Ivan, sister-in-law Gerry, son-in-law David Williston, step-children Shirley<br>(Herb) Gallant, Graham MacKenzie, Gail Didicher (Mark) and David (Cathy) MacKenzie. He was predeceased by his wife Marjorie (Beach), daughter Lynn (Brenton Haynes) Williston, brother Donald. His family includes grandchildren Steven Haynes, Shelley (Dan) Pride, Mark (Taryn) Haynes, Angela (David) Carter, Jan (Brad) Holley; step-grandchildren Holly (Craig) Webber, Stacey & Kristen Gallant, Sarah, Laura, Brett MacKenzie, Madison & Max MacKenzie, Eleanor, John <br>and Alexandra Didicher ; and great-grandchildren Mitchell and Stuart Haynes, Sam and Charles Haynes, Benjamin Pride, Adella and Simon Carter, Essen and Theron Holley, nephews Darren Brenton (Jen), Rod Brenton (Denise) and niece Susan Crooks (Rick).<br>A celebration of Ralph's life will be held in Bethany United Church, 7171 Clinton Avenue, Halifax<br>on Friday, February 17 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow.<br>In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the VON or the charity of your choice.<br></div>
