Richard G. Lipton Our talented and beloved husband, father, grandfather & brother Richard Lipton passed away due to Alzheimer's disease on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. Born on April 14, 1941 to Jean (Smith) & John F. Lipton. He was the first grandchild of many born to the Lipton Family. As a young man he was a Boy Scout (Eagle) and also loved to play and watch hockey. He began his career as an apprentice with Fairey Aviation in Dartmouth, N.S. He attended St. Mary's University and obtained a diploma in the first Industrial Business Management course offered, doing it while working and raising a young family. He married his love Sheila on October 17, 1964 at St. Clement's Church, Dartmouth. He moved to Mahone Bay with his family to work for Paceship Yachts and Acadia Gas then he joined Michelin Tire Co. from which he retired at age 55 after 25 years. He excelled at all woodcrafts and leaves behind many of his creations with friends & family. Richard & Sheila spent many enjoyable summers on their boat in St. Margarets Bay and Mahone Bay with their Boating Buddies. He was predeceased by his parents Jean& John Lipton, in laws Dot & Bun Connors, brother Brian & nephew Jeffrey. He is survived by his wife Sheila (Connors) sons; Scott (Cindy) Steven (Cindy) daughter Krista (Corwin Bosman) sister Carolyn (Jim) brothers; Barry, John (Corinne), Mark (Kelly) and sister-in-law Karen. Grand children Max & Monica, step grandchildren Samantha, Ben & Samantha as well as many nieces & nephews. Our sincere love, respect and thanks to all his care givers and his "Special Family" at Parkstone Enhanced Care (Sullivan's Lane). Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, Shad Bay, on Friday, December 16th, at 11 am with reception and burial in St. Thomas Cemetery, Prospect Road to follow. As per the wishes of the family, there will be no visitation. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Thomas Cemetery Fund, 7525 Prospect Road, Big Lake, NS B3Z 3X7
