<div itemprop="description">Tanner, Robert Earl &ndash; 92, Purcell&rsquo;s Cove, passed away on February 3, 2014, in Camp Hill Veterans&rsquo; Memorial Building, QEII. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Harold and Sadie (Hughes) Tanner. Robert volunteered as a runner in the Canadian Army during the Second World War. During his working life, he was employed in the X-ray Department at the old Camp Hill Hospital for 35 years. He is survived by his sons, Clyde (Betty), Timberlea, John (Linda) Richibucto, NB; daughters, Barbara Tanner, Halifax, Joanmarie Gobeille, Granby, Que; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Robert was predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years Alice Mae, his second wife Dorothy Shanno; his companion Lena Hawes; as well as his siblings and son-in-law, Emile. Visitation will take place 2-4, 7-9 pm, Thursday, February 6, 2014 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax where funeral services will be held 11 am Friday, January 7, 2014. A reception will follow in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Philips Anglican Cemetery, Purcell&rsquo;s Cove.</div>
