<div itemprop="description">Shupe, Ruth Marie &ndash; age 88. It is with deep sadness we announce the passing our dear mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, who passed away at the Halifax Infirmary January 11, 2016. Born in Port Filix, Guysborough County on March 21, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Grace (Perro) Pellerine. Ruth lived in Afton, Montreal and Antigonish, moving to Halifax in the early 70&rsquo;s. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Patrick&rsquo;s Roman Catholic Church Halifax. A member of Saint Vincent De Paul Society which she thoroughly enjoyed. Surviving are her son Jerry (Shannon) Porter; granddaughters, Keighley of B.C. and Ellisa Murray of Halifax; daughter, Judy (Bob) Blue of Manitoulin Island, ON; granddaughter, Bobby Lyn (Brian) of Babcock, ON; sister, Mary Chernikhowsky of Vancouver, BC; brothers, Fred (Kathleen) of Halifax, Joseph (Elizabeth) of Halifax and Danny (Kay) of Dartmouth; sister-in-law, Dolly Pellerine of Hubley, NS and many nieces, nephews and friends, especially Judy and Michelle. Predeceased by her first husband Billy Porter and second husband Oliver Shupe; sisters Dolly, Kay and Betty; brothers, Andy and Dennis. The remains are resting at Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road,, Halifax with a visitation on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 15, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Saint Patrick&rsquo;s Church, 2267 Brunswick Street with a reception to follow. Burial at Oakridge Memory Gardens, Sackville, NS. Donations can be made to Saint Patrick&rsquo;s Memorial Foundation or a charity of your choice.
