Shakur O’shay Trevez Jefferies. It is with great sadness and unimaginable pain that the family of the late Shakur O’shay Trevez Jefferies announce his untimely passing Saturday, November 12, 2016.
Born December 26, 1994, Shakur was the beloved son of Alanda (Shawn Jarvis) Jefferies, Halifax and Trevor (Tanisha Jarvis) Provo, North Preston.
Shakur is well known for his infectious smile and fierce loyalty to his family and friends. He is remembered as a loving and protective son to his mother and a devoted father to his son. Characterized as a mannerly young man, Shakur was always available to help a friend in need and put his family first. Shakur was an all-star athlete and played many sports including football and basketball where he received many awards for his excellence. Besides his parents, Shakur is survived by his precious son and centre of his heart, Latrell Shakur Paris-Jefferies and Latrell's mother Jaiah Paris, sisters, Shenisha, Trenaya, Jodeisha "Dooka", Taija; Brothers, Armon and Tkai; grandmothers, Darlene Jefferies and Patricia Provo; grandfathers, James Jefferies and Milton Smith; great grandfather, James Johnson; aunt, Charmaine; uncles, Wayne, Timmy and Dean; special uncles, Collie and Mantel special aunt, Melissa; Chosen brothers, Dante and Demarco and sister, Lyric; many great aunts, uncles and cousins. Shakur leaves behind a loyal group of friends who will remember him always and mourn him deeply. He was predeceased by maternal great grandparents, Colin and Dorothy Maclean, Muriel Brown Jefferies and Tom Jefferies; paternal great grandparents, Donald and Evelyn Provo, Raymond and Rosetta Beals, great grandmother Kathleen Johnson. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 pm Sunday at the Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax. The funeral will take place at 2:00 pm Monday, November 21 in Mulgrave Park Baptist Church, 5666 Sebastian St., Halifax.
