<div itemprop="description">Saccomandi, Silvano &ldquo;Sil&rdquo; Francis &ndash; 62 of Halifax, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2014 at the QEII VG Hospital surrounded by his family and loved ones. Born in S.Giaccomo, Italy, he was a son of Adelia (Reggi) Saccomandi and the late Antonio Saccomandi. Besides his mother, he is survived by his sister, Natalina (Alan) Supple; Aunt, Yolanda Reggi as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his uncle Antonio Reggi.Sil was employed with Canada Post for 34 years, retiring in 2010 as a Ramp Officer at Halifax Stanfield International Airport. Over the years, he enjoyed and took great pride in his beloved Yorkeshire Terriers, Misty, Teko, Zoe, Heidi, Samantha and Chynna. Sil also enjoyed his spontaneous drives around Nova Scotia as well as sitting at DeWolfe Park on the Bedford Waterfront exchanging stories with friends who appreciated his quirky sense of humor. He also loved relaxing at home watching NASCAR races. Visitation will be held 6-9 pm Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 am Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at St. Theresas RC Church 6351 North St. where a reception will follow. Interment will be at a later date in Oakridge Memory gardens, Middle Sackville. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to The Lung Association of Nova Scotia or the Canadian Cancer Society. Many thanks to the medical staff on 7A Palliative Care Unit, Victoria General Hospital, Halifax and a special thank you to his companion Loretta Thibodeau for her continued friendship and loving care during Sil&rsquo;s illness.</div>
