Thomas Frederick O'Hearn
March 23, 1920 - January 1, 2017
O’ Hearn, Thomas Frederick
Age 96 of Halifax, died peacefully at Camphill Veteran’s building on January 1, 2017. Dad was born in Halifax and he was the son of the late Fred and May (Power) O’ Hearn. He served in the army during the Second World War and was a proud Veteran. He worked for 35 years for the Canadian National Railways as a Carmen. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and taking road trips with his wife Grace. He always put the needs of others before his own. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and someone we were proud to call “Dad”. He will truly be missed by his family especially during the summer barbecues when we were all together. Rest peacefully now Dad. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Grace (Roberts) O’Hearn, son Bruce, partner (Trisha MacDonald) his children Jordan and Kayla. Daughter Lana (Forrest) Huntley and their children Laura and Jill, great grandson Camden. He was predeceased by daughter-in-law Paulette (MacDonald) O’Hearn. He was the last surviving member of his family. We would like to thank everyone at Camphill for the care and kindness that they showed toward our Dad over the last two and half years especially everyone on 6 East. A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers Dad would want you to hug your grandchildren or loved ones and to continue a treasured family tradition share some pocket change with a child in your life.
