Violet Mary Duggan
October 15, 1930 - May 29, 2016
DUGGAN, Violet Mary-85, of Halifax, passed away on May 29, 2016 in the QEII, Halifax Infirmary surrounded by her family.
Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Violet Wilson.
As a young lady, she worked at the Moirs Chocolate Factory in Halifax. There she met the love of her life, Murray. They married and raised their six children in White’s Lake.
Violet enjoyed knitting and was an avid Maple Leaf’s fan. Most of all, she treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters Irene (Laurie) Stewart, Donna (Ron) Brown; sons, Peter (Debbie), David, Tommy (Heather Timmons), 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Violet was predeceased by her husband Murray in 1984; son Phillip; sisters Marion and Margaret.
Cremation has taken place. The funeral service will take place at 11am on Friday June 3 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd, Halifax, Rev. James Haughn officiating. Reception to follow. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Shad Bay.
In lieu flowers, donations may be made to the VON.
