Violet May Muise
June 22, 1923 - August 16, 2016
Muise, Violet May – 93 of Herring Cove, passed away August 16, 2016 at Melville Lodge surrounded by her family. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late William and Barbara (Young) Smith. Before moving to Herring Cove to live with her son-in-law and daughter (who became a primary care giver for both her parents), Violet and her husband Roy resided on Dublin Street for many years. She was a dedicated house wife and took great pride in being at home to raise her family. Violet was a very devoted church goer and was a parishioner at Trinity Anglican Church. She is survived by her children, Thomas William “Billy”, Gordon Walter, Genevieve (Lee) Clarke, Joseph Stephen (Evelyn); grandchildren, Corey Clarke, Aaron Clarke, Tyler Muise, Samantha Muise; seven great grandchildren; sister, Jean Smith; brother, Stanley Smith as well as several nieces and nephews and her little four legged friend Dena. Besides her parents, Violet was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Roy in 2014; brothers, William “Willy”, Gordon, Donald “Donnie”; sisters, Margaret, Mildred and Dorothy. Visitation will take place 1-5pm Sunday, August 21 at Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd. from where a funeral service will be held 11am Monday, August 22. A reception will follow in the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakridge Memorial Gardens, Middle Sackville.
