Wallace Scott (Wally) Horne 80, of Halifax passed away peacefully on July 15, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was a son of the late Charles Horne and Kathleen (Eisnor) Horne. Wally will always be remembered as a gentle, kind man dedicated to his family and church. He was an avid accordion player, a life-long volunteer, a Christian, a wonderful father, devoted husband, fun-loving grandfather and lover of all things sports. In his younger years he was highly involved in judo, softball and swimming. His easy going down-to-earth nature will sadly be missed by his friends, family and community. After 35 years of service with the CBC he enjoyed spending his time on projects around the family home. He derived pleasure being outside on sunny days soaking up the rays while listening to gospel or bluegrass music. Although Wally is now in Heaven with the Lord, his beautiful heart, sense of humor and family values are very much alive and strong in his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Maxine (Sangster), daughters, Krista Horne-Taylor (David), Katherine Horne, grandchildren, Alyssa Caissie, Lindsay Caissie, sister, Dolly Grandy (Leonard), brothers, Ross (Sandra), Jack, sisters-in-law, Ruby and Kay. He is predeceased by his sister, Shelia Robb (Gordon), and his brothers, Donald and Charles. The funeral service will be held at Sheffield Baptist Church (80 Lincoln Cross Drive) Halifax on Tuesday, July 19th at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sheffield Baptist Church, The Red Cross or the IWK.
