<div itemprop="description">Taylor, Walter Joseph, of L'Ardoise, Cape Breton passed away on February 19, 2014 at the age of 83. He was the son of Helaire and Mary (Briand) Taylor. Walter was predeceased by his wife Patricia (Boudreau) Taylor in 2002, and his son, Robert Taylor in January 2014. He leaves his partner Mae Newell of Halifax, NS; son, Roy (Leona) Taylor of Halifax, NS; daughter in law, Kathie Taylor, Bedford, NS, son Ron (Victoria) Taylor of Toronto, ON and five grandchildren; Gabriel, Olivia and Caleb Taylor of Toronto, ON and Kyle (Liz) Taylor of Victoria, BC and Devin Taylor, Bedford, NS. An avid outdoorsman, Walter had fond memories of his annual Fall pilgrimage to Point Michaud, Cape Breton. The wildlife, colours and genuine warmth that he experienced during those trips always reminded him of how good it was to be home. As one of 11 children, he left home at the age of 15. He worked on the historic Halifax waterfront as a longshoreman for over 30 years. Walter loved good conversation and spoke with friends as easily as he did with complete strangers. He will be missed by all. Memorial Service will take place at the Atlantic Funeral Home, Halifax Chapel, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax, Nova Scotia, on February 22nd at 1 P.M. Reception to follow. Burial will be announced at a later date. For those wishing to make a donation in memory of Walter Taylor, the family would appreciate a contribution to a charity of choice. Online condolences and the sharing of memories may be expressed by visiting the Halifax chapel at www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com</div>
