<div itemprop="description">Brian Cecil Lang, 59, of Halifax, NS. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Brian in his home on Thursday, March 9 surrounded by his loving wife and dear friends following a brief illness. “Handsome Brian” leaves behind his wife and best friend Sherry. Loving father to Jade Johnson (Devin) and Troy. Beloved son of Vida and the late Mike Lang. Treasured brother to Candace Burns (Pat), Charles both of Ontario, Glenn (Mary) of British Columbia James (Roxy), Heather (Angelo), Darren (Kathy) all of Ontario. Adored uncle of many nieces and nephews who are spread out from coast to coast. Cherished nephew and cousin to many living in Southern Ontario whom he loved to tour with when they visited him in beautiful Nova Scotia. <br>Brian was passionate about food and loved cooking for Sherry and friends. He enjoyed experimenting with new recipes, particularly baking and preserving. Brian loved to travel and proposed to Sherry in Giverny, France in Monet’s garden. Brian and Sherry were looking forward to a two-week sailing adventure with some good friends. His artistic passions included painting, drawing and art appreciation. Health, fitness and the outdoors were a priority for Brian. He loved the outdoors and hiking, kayaking and snorkeling were among his favourite things to do. <br>Brian grew up in the little town of Harrow, Ont. At 18, he enlisted in the Navy and served on the HMCS Preserver. Upon leaving the Navy, he made Nova Scotia his home. He worked for P&H Milling (Dover) for 38 years where he will be fondly remembered for his inspirational quotes he wrote on the back of his forklift.<br>A celebration of Brian’s life will be held Wednesday, March 15, 6 pm to 9 pm at the Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VON Halifax (https://www.von.ca/en/donate-now). Brian’s family extends a special thank you to the VON nurses who cared for him in his home. <br> Live strong – Body, Mind and Spirit Beloved, treasured, adored.<br></div>
