<div itemprop="description">Rent, Catherine Mary, 71 – We are sad to announce the death of Catherine on September 17, 2016 at the QEII – VG Site. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Sampson) Rent. In her younger years, Catherine worked for MT&T. She then moved to Toronto where she worked for CIBC before moving back to Halifax. Catherine was a very kind person and had a great sense of humor. She is survived by her sisters, Marie (Late Ken) Martin, Betty Ann (Bernie) Hubley, Helen Rent all of Ottawa, Elaine (Peter) Gallant, Dolbeau, Quebec, Anita (Late Michael) MacSween, Marian (Late Carlo Vetese) Rent both of Halifax; brother, Peter (Noreen), Mount Uniacke; stepson, Stephen (Jenn) Yarde; step grandchildren, Nathan and Michael; her “honorary grandson”, Tyler Davis as well as many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her dear friends, Sandy and Wayne, Mary and Mike. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Keith Yarde. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 6-8 pm, Wednesday, September 21 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. A private service will be held at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
