Donald Ralph Langille Age 83, of Halifax. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father Donald Langille, on Saturday, October 8, 2016, in the Victoria General Hospital, with his family by his side. Born on August 10, 1933, in Lorne, Pictou County, Donnie (as Dad was known to most) was the son of the late Charles and Beatrice (Murphy) Langille. Husband of the late Carolyn Langille (Snyder), loving father to Dawn Marie (John) Scott, of East Lawrencetown and Janice (Jerry) Clark, of Halifax. Grandfather to Ryan (Amy) Scott, Edmonton, Jordan Scott and Nicholas Clark, both of Halifax. Great-grandfather to Heidi Marie Scott, of Edmonton, that he tried dearly to wait to meet before passing. Special friend to Patricia Isnor of Halifax. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, predeceased by brothers Charles of North Bay, Keith of Toronto, Lloyd of Pictou and sisters Kaye of Truro, Dorothy of Stewiacke and Verna of Lorne. Donnie retired after 37 years from CFB Shearwater, as a heavy duty mechanic, a job he truly enjoyed and spoke about even up until his final days. Dad would tackle any project big or small, he was a “jack of all trades and master of ALL”. He will be dearly missed by his family, extended family and four-legged “best bud”, Skiddles. Visitation will be held at Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax on Wednesday, October 12 from 7 to 9pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 13 at 11am in the Atlantic Funeral Home Chapel, Reverend Kevin Little officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
