<div itemprop="description">Ordinelli, Nicola &ldquo;Nic&rdquo;&ndash; 84, of Halifax, passed away peacefully at Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital on Saturday September 20, 2014 surrounded by his family, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. <br />Born on March 6th, 1930 in Castellalto, Teramo, Italy. He was the son of the late Giovanni and Vincenza (Di Martino) Ordinelli. <br />Nic immigrated to Canada in October 1956 and excelled at his beloved craft with 35 years of experience in the concrete business. He was an avid wine maker and loved spending time with his family, especially the many weekends, picnics and dinners with his grandchildren. A favourite past time was playing Bocce on Friday nights with his friends at ICCA. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Rita (DiMattia), sons John (Penny), Tony (Heather), six grandchildren; Nicolas, Terri Lynn, Kimberly, Jacob, Isaac, and Zachary; one great-grandchild Liliana and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Nic was predeceased by his son Dante and brothers Pietro and Massimo. Visitation for Nic will be held on Tuesday September 23 from 2&ndash; 4pm and 7-9 pm in the Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd. Halifax. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Wednesday September 24th in St. Ignatius Church 5 Bedford St., Bedford, NS. <br />Flowers are welcome. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to thank the staff at Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital for their kind and caring way.
