<div itemprop="description">Gentleman, Roger John passed away peacefully on Oct 18, 2016 at the Northwood Continuing Care Center. Born Nov 25, 1930 in Montreal he was a son of the late Fredrick and Frances Mary (Nee: Maher) Gentleman. Roger moved to Halifax in the early 50’s where he met the love of his life Margaret Crowe and married her on March 18, 1956. Throughout his life he was an ardent fan of The Montreal Canadians and Expos and was very saddened the day the Expos left town. Roger was a dedicated stage hand with CBC Halifax for over 35 years. Roger enjoyed spending family vacations in River John Nova Scotia. Roger had a quick wit and amazing sense of humor especially if caught cheating at bridge. He was a history buff and Trivia Pursuit Master. Upon retirement he took up the game of Golf to which he spent many summer days on the course trying to break “a hundred”. He will be missed. <br>Besides his wife he is survived by his son, Timothy (Christine); daughters, Beverly Gentleman (Mac), Tracy (Glenn) Dodge; grandchildren, Madeline Dodge, Nicholas and Matthew Gentleman. <br>Besides his parents Roger is predeceased by sister, Margaret; brother, Norman. <br>Visitation will be held Monday Oct 24 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Atlantic Funeral Homes 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. <br>In lieu of Flowers donations in Roger’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or Hope for Wildlife. The family would like to thank the staff at Northwood for their compassionate care. <br> <br> <br></div>
