<div itemprop="description">With broken hearts and great sadness, the family announces the death of Ron, age 47 on August 30th. Born in Halifax, March 6, 1969, as the younger of two sets of twin boys, sons of the late Francoise Jeannine (Lescamela) and Gordon James McDonald. Ron loved working out, playing sports; especially hockey, competed in marathons and triathlons. As an avid Habs fan, he attended many games in Montreal with friends and family. He was also, a Moosehead season ticket holder with his dad and brothers. He was previously a member of the army reserves, 1st Field Artillery Regiment, Halifax. After graduating from NSIT as an Electronic Engineering Technologist, Ron worked at Dalhousie University Faculty of Dentistry for 20 years. His love of construction projects was evident in his beautiful household renovations. He loved cruising and traveling with his wife Jeanette “Sis” (Norman) who was his best friend and soulmate for 24 years. They both treasured long walks on the Rails to Trails close to their home. A true love story ending too soon. Along with his wife, he is survived by his twin brother Dave (Susan Camus), Halifax; older twin brothers Jim (Rose Poirier), Halifax; and Mike (Michelle LeBlanc), Ottawa; mother-in-law Jean Currie, Halifax; and brother-in-law Rick Norman (Jackie), Halifax; and beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, and father-in-law Bill Currie. Ron maintained a positive attitude and sense of humor throughout his illness and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Thank you to the nurses, doctors and all Palliative Care staff of the QEII’s Unit 7A, VG Site, for their exceptional care, kindness and support. As per Ron’s wishes, a private service will be held.
