<div itemprop="description">Coolen, Anna G. formerly of Shad Bay. It is with sadness that we announce the death of our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother at Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home at the age of 105 on May 22, 2016. Born in East Chezzetcook on October 21, 1910, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Annie (Richards) Smith. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Anna is survived by her daughters, Joan Connors, Dartmouth, Catherine (Robert) Brooking, Head of Chezzetcook, Dorothy (Robert) Smith, Cold Lake, Alberta; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Cecil; brothers, Harold and William; sisters, Elva Turner, Marie Robicheau and Josephine Redmond as well as her son-in-law, John Connors. Cremation has taken place under the care of Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral mass will be celebrated 12 pm Friday, May 27 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (St. Joseph’s), Shad Bay, Fr. Duncan MacMaster officiating. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Shad Bay with a reception to follow in the Whites Lake Legion. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of choice. Special thanks to 6th floor staff at Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home for their loving care over the last 6 years.</div>
