<div itemprop="description">GUNN (MacLellan), Barbara L., R.N. &ndash; Age 82, of Halifax, passed away peacefully in the QEII Hospital, VG Site on October 16, 2015. Following graduation from Bedford High School, where she excelled as a student, Barbara entered the Victoria General Hospital School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse; a proud member of the class of 1955. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Audrey (Cahill) MacLellan and leaves a greatly saddened family of Roy, her husband of 59 years and four children, John, Loraine (Warren), Philip and Alan (Tanya), all of Halifax; grandchildren, Sadie, Bradley Petrie and Emmitt Gunn. Barbara practiced her profession in Halifax at the Victoria General and Camp Hill Hospitals before the family moved to Ottawa where she was employed at various times, in addition to raising a loving family, at the Ottawa Civic Hospital and in private duty nursing. Through the years in Ottawa, she very much enjoyed a fun loving sorority group and on returning to Halifax, she was an active participant in antique and investment clubs, loved searching and investing in antiques and paintings, plus was always available as a volunteer for many charities. She loved to travel and had Roy as a very willing participant. In addition to many trips throughout Canada, the USA and the Caribbean, they visited Europe several times and had one memorable trip to Hong Kong and Japan. Unfortunately their travels were cut short by Barbara&rsquo;s deteriorating health in recent years. Cremating has taken place. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm Friday October 23 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax from where a reception will follow. Family flowers only, please. Donations in memory of Barbara may be made to Saint Vincent&rsquo;s Nursing Home, 2080 Windsor Street, Halifax, NS, B3K 2B5 or a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made to the family by visiting the Halifax Chapel at www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com. Her family wishes to thank Saint Vincent&rsquo;s Nursing Home for exceptional care and friendly, personal support.</div>
